App of the Month
Calm
This week, I want to talk about being wrong.

Specifically, about something I was convinced was a waste of time, something I openly scoffed at. And now, it's one of the most important tools I use to manage the stress of work, life, and everything in between.
Let’s rewind to 2020. Like many of you, I was running on fumes. The line between work and home had evaporated, and the constant, low-grade anxiety was taking its toll. My go-to stress reliever—hitting the gym—started to feel less like a release and more like another box I had to check.
On a particularly rough day, I caved and downloaded the Calm app. I’d heard the hype, but I was deeply skeptical. I tried a session, felt absolutely nothing, and promptly deleted it. "Not for me," I thought.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
My journey back to Calm wasn't sparked by a sudden epiphany, but by a quiet desperation. I was out of energy to try anything else. So, I made a deal with myself: I would commit to one "Daily Calm" session every single night, no matter what. No expectations, just consistency.
The result wasn't a lightning bolt of tranquility. It was something quieter, slower, but far more profound. It was like my mind was a muscle I was finally training for the first time.
After 92 days in a row, the biggest change was my self-awareness. I could finally detect when my stress was climbing before it became overwhelming. I learned to listen to my body's signals. Meditation didn't magically remove life's problems; it gave me the clarity to face them without letting them consume me.
If you’ve ever felt like your mind was too busy for meditation or just wanted an honest, no-hype look at whether an app like this can actually make a difference, this video is for you.
My takeaway from this whole experience is simple: sometimes the thing you resist the most is exactly what you need. You never know when the solution you dismissed is the one that will give you the perspective you've been looking for.
